Testimonials Photo Gallery Started Pups & Dogs Dams Stud				Prairie Fire Wirehairs was developed by brothers-in-law Ron Nelson and John Reker, who share the same passion for hunting and hunting dogs. We chose to breed the German Wirehaired Pointer because of their strong hunting ability for upland game and waterfowl. They have incredible stamina in the field and they work close to the foot hunter, providing an excellent hunting experience. Because we live and hunt in the upper Midwest, the Wirehair is better suited for living and working in the cold and wet weather we often encounter here. Our wirehairs are an important part of our families. They have been raised with and around our children and grandchildren. We carefully selected our Sire and Dams based on their temperament, hunting ability, confirmation, and coats. We have been breeding our dogs for several years and have sold our wirehair pups in North Dakota, South Dakota, Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Nebraska, Colorado, New Jersey, Ohio, New Mexico and Florida. Our pups are purchased for hunting and as family pets.
